Cut power to charging gadgets as soon as the battery is full with the Belkin Conserve Socket Energy Saving Outlet. It has a timer on the side or 1/2 hour, 3hour and 6 hour charge times. Priced at $9.99 I think it is a good deal.
Another cool outlet adapter is the Belkin Conserve Power Switch. It has a switch on the side so that you do not have to keep plugging and unplugging small appliances like a coffee maker. I bought a digital coffee maker because it came in black, not or the programming module so I am always unplugging it, this would be handy. or $6.43 I think it is definitely on the shopping list.

Am I weird to think that this is adorable.

Playing around while working on a logo design as a result of me test-driving a tutorial.
Which tutorial, you ask? I’ve actually posted it already, in fact!

This is how I start all my sites. Start with structure, colored blocks to see what things are doing.
Right now I’m at school and away from Dreamweaver so I’m doing all of this by hand, just typing code into Notepad++.
Next up, format text and start turning the blocks into their actual colors, although there’ll be a big background image that I won’t be able to put in until I’m at home and have Photoshop at my disposal.
This is the front page of my portfolio site. That long pink bar is going to be some sorta slideshow; I’ll have to go look up the code for that, I don’t know how to do it.

Finished the second design. I like this one much more.

Box template for a package design assignment made in Illustrator. This time I’m redesigning a package for Chick-O-Sticks:

Since they usually come in a wrapper in full-sized sticks, I decided to make a box for multiple sticks instead. The template is based off the Pocky box, which I’m using as inspiration/reference.

I’ll be making my own changes to the template as needed; I plan on doing something a little different with the shape of the flap on the box.
In the meantime, I am sick. x___x|||| Caught a head cold, and woke up with my neck in a kink so bad I can’t move it right very well. Feeling better, but it still hurts even just by sitting here. But, that’s probably because I’ve been bending over my measurements, haha. Glad I didn’t go to work though; it would’ve been miserable. orz

Making a garment is like creating your own puzzle, fucking it up and trying to put everything back together. There is a lot of planning involved. If you start sewing without knowing exactly what to do, you may run into lots of problems in terms of finishing the edges, facings, lining, etc. That’s why I like to plan things out before I even thread the machine.

Graphic design is the same. Right now I’m designing a candy box and there is LOTS OF SKETCHING AND MEASURING involved…before I even do the design.

FINALLY finished building this web site! Now to put it together in Flash Catalyst.

At this point, I don’t wanna use this as my personal site. 8D;; I think the loading time is going to be BEASTLY to bring this sucker up. Also, this was a lot of freakin’ work in order to do something I can quickly whip up with HTML/CSS and just use the Lightbox kit. 8I;;;

The stats on the photo viewer are just random specs from photos on DA; the photos are all stock photos, too, but don’t match the specs, so just ignore that, haha.

NEW WEBSITE.

Ekqo.net is online! As always, debugging would be awesome.

Pages that aren’t to be debugged: Store (which should lead to Etsy) and Portfolio (which was built a few months ao and has been pretty much tested already).

Stuff I’m aware of: Tumbleweeds are blowing through, the site is a little empty. I needed to get this up ASAP though. Also, it’s a little plain; I want to add more rollovers and possibly a gallery and an animated Flash doohickey on the front page for a prettier link interface.

All in all, it’s a really simple design this time. I don’t have time to make something more advanced. I’ll spruce it up more as I go, especially once I redo my portfolio site, which is gonna look drastically different from the way it does now (the main thing, is that it’s going to be a Flash website).

EDIT: Just noticed the Google Plus icon on the front slid onto the next line. Note to self: Widen the div later.
