lenoir-whittlethorn asked: Leona: Questions #1, #5, #6, #8, #11, #18, #23, #26, #35, and #42. Have fun~. x3
In which Lenoir makes me type up an essay about The King’s Demon. Lol.
1.) Tell a bit about a main protagonist and a main antagonist? If your story doesn’t really have “good guys and bad guys”, tell about two characters with opposing viewpoints!
Well…this stinks, because I can’t really talk about the antagonist in King’s Demon. :1 So…I guess I’ll just talk about the protag lol.
Leona is a loyal knight to her king and, yeah, would die for him. She’s a bit dense to any other matter that doesn’t concern fighting an enemy, making her fun to tease. > u < Ehhh, now that I think about it, she really isn’t that complex. Simple things make her happy and she’ll treasure them forever, too.
5.) Is [character] lucky in love? Can you describe any of their past relationships?
:D Love? What’s that? She doesn’t know what that is, lol. If you asked her, she wouldn’t even say that she loves her king, just that she’d give her life for him if needed. If I have my way, though, she’ll find out…
6.) I know you’ve probably answered every favorite food question under the sun, but how about [character]’s favorite DRINK, DESSERT and SNACK?
Oh jeez. Apple cider, biscotti, and white cheese. Let’s pretend I didn’t make that up on the spot.
8.) If you had to pick three words to describe [character], you would choose:
Strong, dense, epic-boss-lady. :V
11.) [Character]: Truth or Dare?
She’d pick Truth, not wanting to find out what you’d do to her if it was Dare and she likes to remain honest anyway so she holds few secrets.
18.) Are there any authors, artists, stories or other elements that have offered inspirations for this story?
Just recently I realized that Yuki Midorikawa’s “The Scarlet Chair” probably influenced Leona’s character as a knight without me realizing. I was rereading it and I was fascinated again by one of the characters’ mother, who was also a female warrior and pretty legendary. The funny thing is that initially KD was set in modern time and it was a cop vs. mafia type thing with Leona a cop, but the plot wouldn’t come to me easily at all and there were things about mafias that I didn’t have time to look up, so I switched to a fantasy setting at the last minute and then it just came to me much more easily.
And of course, Leona herself was based off the person who asked this question. C: I wanted to write a story with a similar feel to a certain play I wrote back in high school that starred aforementioned person, though KD turned out much more serious in the end. xD;; Whoops.
23.) How prominent are things like natural disasters? What types can occur?
Hmmmm, Leona’s kingdom is in a more northern region with mountains at the top of it and more flat or hilly land below it. The story takes place in caves below a plateau, which was caused by an earthquake a looong time before the story, but I’d say the region would suffer more from blizzards and cold winters more frequently than earthquakes. The area Leona is from is more arid and prone to droughts, though the cultures that live there have adapted to it very well and thrive.
26.) Are different backgrounds or cultures explored at all, whether through characters or locations? This can include different fads, fashions or slang specific to an area.
The country that Leona lives in is kinda based off Europe, what with mountains and white people everywhere with light features. The country that Leona is from was based off Mexico, with a slight twist on the people in making them taller and stockier. This was intentional as I wanted to make Leona stand out even more from the rest of the people in her country, making her even more “demonic”, I guess.
35.) How about religious or spiritual beliefs?
I wrote the answer for this a long time ago, lemme dig it up.
Believes in God and that she’s pretty much not worth saving since her sole occupation is based on killing.
FOUND IT. Wow I wrote that nearly two years ago, wait, this story is THAT old? 8D;; Ho jeez. Well, anyway, that’s about right still.
42.) If super-powers, magic or other abilities are part of what sets this world apart from real world, can you describe a few?
LOL I JUST ANSWERED THAT. UM BUT YEAH. I mean, it IS set in a soft-fantasy world, lol. But other than the extra strength, not much, really. I considered adding in magic later, but I probably won’t.
AND THERE WE HAVE IT. Although, I’m surprised you didn’t ask me about Bridal Trials, since I haven’t posted much about it. ;)
EDIT: Whoa, some code got bungled and part of #35 got deleted, so its been fixed now.
